※ As each knife is handcrafted, slight variations in size, weight, and finish should be expected.
These Sakai Takayuki knives are crafted using multiple layers of Takefu Specialty Steel's signature VG10 and VG2 steels, which are laminated using a proprietary rolling technique. By minimizing carbide size, this process yields a material that achieves both greater sharpness and enhanced toughness compared to conventional VG10 steel.
"ken" meaning sword and "gata" meaning shape in Japanese.

NOTE:
While VG10 steel is rust-resistant, hand wash, wipe, and dry thoroughly after each use. If rust appears, use a metal polish or consult a sharpening professional (minor scratches may occur).
Avoid twisting the edge or striking the blade. Do not cut frozen foods or bones, as the thinner, sharper edge of Japanese knives may chip or break. Since Japanese knives are handcrafted, slight scratches may appear naturally.
