Homura Guren(焔 紅蓮 )
Born from the crimson flames that have been lit for over 600 years in Sakai, the city of knives, the blade has been named Homura Gren, which describes it as the most intense flame.
This is an authentic black-forged knife, the top of the line in the Sakai Takayuki series, forged uncompromisingly by Sakai blacksmith Doi Itsuo from sharp Aogami No. 2.
The handle is made of oak wood that has been lacquered to make it water-resistant and durable, and the charred design of the end of the handle is reminiscent of a blade born from a flame.

About Itsuo Doi(土井 逸夫)
Mr Itsuo Doi is a third generation blacksmith, following in the footsteps of his father Keijiro and his grandfather Kazuo. He is the master of choice for our Homura knives, as working with Hitachi Blue Steel is his specialty. As a craftsman he is in his prime, always experimenting and honing his technique.

Aogami is not rust resistance. This steel gets rust. Please wash, wipe and dry it up well after use. In case rust appears on the edge, remove it by a sharpening stone. In case rust appears on the blade, use cleanser(in case of stainless steel) or scourer(in case of iron steel). (scratch may appear)

This knives are made by craftsmen, there are scratches and dent and so on.  Almost Japanese knives are thin blade. Don't twist edge, and don't cut and hit frozen foods or bones, the edge will be chipped or broken.
